It has been a great pleasure for the teachers and especially the students working with your volunteers on Reader's Friday. The children look forward to their read alouds from a diverse group of talented people. I have students make comments how their reader allowed them to make funny sounds that corresponded to the characters in the story. The teachers have said how the students are fully engaged when a "New" nice reader comes to their room and shares a story with them. We are pleased you have become part of our program -Maritza Macomber, Goudy School Librarian
Today's opportunity structure is totally different from what was in-place for our parents, so one thing young professionals are realizing is we can and need to champion educational experiences which will best prepare primary and secondary school students for the future - the future as you and I know it. That Alumni for Public Schools is creating an advisory board of 100 young professionals to do this only makes too much sense. -Philip Chang, APS #100for100 Advisory Board Member
